[GRASSLIST:7094] r.in/out.gdal

Hi list,

I was wondering - how can I get to work both r.in.gdal and r.out.gdal?
I have GRASS 6.0.0 compiled --with-gdal and gdal 1.2.6 compiled w/o
GRASS.
In this case r.in.gdal works, but r.out.gdal fails with msg: GDALOpen
failed - 4 bubu not in supported format.

Is there any way to get both r.in.gdal and r.out.gdal to work? 
I read, that I need to compile GDAL, then GRASS --with-gdal and then
GDAL --with-grass, but, as I understand, Gentoo portage will refuse to
do it, as then GRASS and GDAL will have crossreference.
