[GRASSLIST:6177] Shape fiile import

Hi All,
ESRI Shape file import problem.
1. Importing shape files only with 1 attribute, though
grass it self has evolved to accommodate more than
one.?
2. using spearfish57, if a shape file with a different
xy is imported it gives error, db soils etc..??

3. Display manager is not automatic.. Have to start
with command.
