[GRASSLIST:8662] ortho-rectification reference

I am looking for a general reference that addresses quality control
of orthorectification. We are currently orthorectifying many
historical aerial photos that lack a detailed camera calibration
report (we only know the focal length). We are getting
reasonable-looking results, but will still like to find some
guidelines on the process. Two immediate issues we have: 1) we have
ca. 20% overlap using every 2nd photo in the flight line--is it
imperative to orthorectify every photo? Seems like a lot of 'wasted'
work due to high overlap. 2) we are not sure how to determine
boundaries for patching adjacent overlapping photos.

Thanks,
Dan
