Hello Paul,
Thanks a lot. The problem is solved. As u told me to do , after 
recompiling, i copied the executable 
~/grass-5.3.0/dist.i686-pc-linux-gnu/etc/bin/inter/i.rectify  into my 
~/grass53/etc/bin/inter directory
and everything works  fine now.
