[GRASSLIST:769] v.clean fails to create the error map

Hi Guys,
I am using v.clean on a set of centroid data and i know there are overlapping centroids in it. I want to separate the overlapping centroids in a different file. So i was using v.clean with tool=rmdac and hoping that it will create an error map having all duplicate centroids. But it faisl to create a error map.
I noticed at http://grass.itc.it/pipermail/grass5/2006-March/022065.html that this bug has been reported earlier. So has it been fixed since then or is there any workaround for this problem?
