[GRASSLIST:788] i.gensig quits

I am having trouble with grass "unexpectedly quitting" when  
attempting to run i.gensig or i.gensigset.

I have macintosh os10.4 with Lorenzo's April 8 installation.

This also happens occasionally when importing shape files.

I have swapped memory in and out to see if it is a result of bad  
memory, but there is not change in behavior.

Any ideas on what might cause this?
