[GRASSLIST:10157] wrong version shown for gdal-1.3.1

hi  everyone!

I have installed gdal-1.3.1 and it got installed
without errors.but when i run gdalinfo --version it
gives wrong version i.e instead of giving 1.3.1 it
gives 1.2.3.

Please help !
