[GRASS-user] e00conv not found

I am wanting to use v.in.e00 but just get error messages. I have
installed AVCE00 and E00Compr from Debian repositories to my AMD64. I
then configured and built todays GRASS CVS release. But I still get
the following error

v.in.e00: 'e00conv' program not found, install it first
       http://avce00.maptools.org

I thought e00conv was bundled within E00Compr so what could be going
wrong?
