[GRASS-user] intersection of vectors not working (v.clean)

Hi all.
I'm trying get the intersections of contours and drainage, bu v.clean
insn't giving me any output.
The contours are from r.contour.
Drainages came from JGrass (I need Strahler order), I used r.mapcalc
to get a raster only with the orders of interest, then r.thin, then
r.to.vect.
After that I patched the vectors, with v.patch and used v.clean to get
the intersections, as:

v.clean input=patch output=temporary err=intersect tool=break

but then...

GRASS_INFO_MESSAGE(10017,11): Tool: Break lines at intersections
Intersections:     0
Intersections:     0 (line 329)
Intersections:     0 (line 683)
Intersections:     0

I don't understand. Did I miss something on generating contours or
converting drainage to vector? I used v.build on both maps prior to
v.patch.
