International Symposium on Terrain Analysis and Digital Terrain
Modelling
The website is www.tadtm2006.net
Date: 23-25 November 2006
Nanjing, China
Call for Papers
Terrain analysis has been an active study field for some years and
attracted research effort from geographers, surveyors, engineers and
computer scientists. However, due to lack of communication across
various disciplines, the effort seems to be quite isolated and
mostly focused on problems within individual application fields.
With the rapid growth of Geographical Information System (GIS)
technology, particularly the establishment of high resolution
Digital Elevation Models (DEM) at national level, the challenge is
now focused on delivering justifiable socio-economical and
environmental benefits. For this we need to bring people in the
field of terrain analysis together and provide a platform for more
active and fruitful communication and exchange of ideas.
The International Symposium on Terrain Analysis and Digital Terrain
Modelling attempts to create a platform for better communications
and scholarly exchange among researchers in the fields of terrain
analysis, geomorphometry, environmental modelling and geographical
information sciences. It is the intention of the symposium organiser
to allow sufficient discussion and exchange of ideas during the
conference sessions, so that the conference will be run in the
single session format with sufficient time for each paper
presentation and follow-up discussion.
Conference Language: English
Themes
Terrain analysis parameters and algorithms
Feature extraction from DEM
Scales in digital terrain analysis
Terrain analysis and geo-statistics
Uncertainty of digital terrain analysis and DEM
Terrain visual enhancement and analysis
Digital terrain analysis based on very large spatial databases

Urban DEM
Call for Papers
You are cordially invited to submit extended abstract to the
symposium. The extended abstract should be written in English with
1000-1500 English words. The abstract will be reviewed by no less
than two referees. The author of accepted abstracts will be invited
to submit the full paper which will be presented in the symposium
and included in the conference proceedings. The symposium organiser
also intends to publish an edited book of selected papers, which
will be fully refereed after the symposium.
