I have had several cases in the past where dragging files from the
directory view of a ZIP file manager resulted in incomplete extraction
of the contents.
This may be due to bugs in the archiver's directory GUI and/or filename
handling (e.g. wrong handling of special characters or "hidden" files).
I can't tell you how many hours I wasted trying to get software to
run or compile that wouldn't because the Windows tool "forgot" to
extract some of the files in the ZIP container.
If you want to be sure, forget about all the fancy GUI tools, get
gzip, use it on the command line and live happily ever after ...
Best,
Benjamin
