[GRASS-user] How to import .img format file?

check if your copy of GDAL was built with support for Erdas Imagine.

$ gdalinfo --formats | grep -i erdas
  HFA (rw+): Erdas Imagine Images (.img)
  LAN (ro): Erdas .LAN/.GIS

If that's there, then r.in.gdal should be able to load it.

also try

$ gdalinfo filename.img



I successfully imported a .img file with r.in.gdal last week.
What are the command line options and exact error message you get?
