Now, just put an "A " at the beginning each line with another little awk command:
nawk '{print "A " $0}' infile > outfile

After v.support, I did v.to.rast.

I'm on my third try here:

The "etc." below the coordinate pairs replaces three consecutive
lines with only periods on them.

I really hope this does it.
