[GRASS-user] Integer rast3d?

Hello,

I'm new to this list and relatively new to GRASS.

My question is simple: is there a way to create integer 3D rasters?

I would like to use voxel values as database entries (much like vector map categories) and would prefer to avoid using 4 bytes per cell instead of 1, especially in big cubes. Also cell value interpolation is an absolute no-no. Vector volume/centroid pairs don't seem to be implemented yet and I thought that voxel maps were simpler to handle and might well do the trick. Is there a clean way to achieve this or any other way for this matter?

Cheers!
