Also, --with-wxwidgets is (AFAIK) only meaningful if you also use
--with-python and --with-cxx.

The wxPython GUI gets "built" (i.e. installed) unconditionally. The
configure switches only affect components which contain C/C++ code
which needs to be compiled.
