[GRASS-user] buffer question

It seems, that there are line-segments and a buffer is made for each. Do
you mean that?

Otherwise check:
http://grass.itc.it/grass64/manuals/html64_user/v.buffer.html

eg.
v.buffer input=map output=buffer type=line distance=100

Flags:

-s
    Make outside corners straight
-c
    Don't make caps at the ends of polylines
