[GRASS-user] Projection values

Hi all,
I tried to make the projection by "Projection values" in GRASS 6.4 - 
Linux but after putting the description for the location I received error:
ERROR: region for current mapset is not set
                r. "g.region"

ERROR: "error: "/usr/lib/grass64/etc/set_data" exited abnormally. Press 
<enter> to continue"

Please help me what should I do to run it correctly?
