Dear Markus and Martin,
I found wxpython.py but I still have the same error message. At this point I
think the best to do is to upgrade Fedora, clean everything and restart
GRASS compilation. But not today, next year.
Many thanks for your kind (as usual) assistance and...Happy New Year.

I don't remember which is the minimum version requirement for wx.
On my Fedora box, I have:

wxBase-2.8.12-1.fc16.x86_64
wxGTK-2.8.12-1.fc16.x86_64
wxGTK-devel-2.8.12-1.fc16.x86_64
wxGTK-gl-2.8.12-1.fc16.x86_64
wxGTK-media-2.8.12-1.fc16.x86_64
wxPython-2.8.12.0-1.fc16.x86_64

In Fedora 16, it is in package wxPython.

ah, on Fedora 10 it is perhaps still sitting in:
wxPython-devel

Please install also that package, then you can check its content
for wxversion.py.

Best
Markus
