[GRASS-user] Remove duplicate points

Hello,

I have GPS data where multiple points have the same coordinates. I would
like to simplify the file and erase any duplicates.

I have tried using v.clean:
v.clean input=kpr1 output=clean1 type=point tool=rmdupl 

The command completes ok, but when I look inside the resulting file, it has
the same number of points.
Could anyone suggest what the reason might be?
