Could you please post what you tried and what these tools responded?

And could you look into your sqlite.db with "sqlitemanager" or likewise
to verify its content?

Please post the output of
v.db.connect -p yourmap
v.info -c yourmap

[GRASS 6.4.3 will come with an improved SQLite backend, however, I
 am surprised that a table would disappear in 6.4.2]
