If you want the coordinates also in the table, you can upload
coordinates with v.to.db.

v.in.ply for GRASS 7 is designed for large point clouds with the
possibility to have only coordinates, no attribute table (for speed
reasons).

Because of x=4 y=5 z=6. The default x=1 y=2 z=3 should work just fine, i.e. just
v.in.ply input=/home/xxxxx/cat2.ply output=cat2xyz_v1
