OSGeo has been selected as a mentor organization for the 2017 edition of
GSoC! [1]

*According to the Google Summer of Code 2017 Timeline [2]:

February 27 - March 20 	Potential student participants discuss application
ideas with mentoring organizations
March 20 16:00 UTC 	Student application period opens

* Would-be students:
 
please read carefully the recommendations [3] and browse the ideas page at
[4] and join the OSGeo's project communities 
to discuss your exciting ideas with the communities.

* How to increase your chances of being selected [5]

- Be proactive
- Demonstrate your skills
- Demonstrate your intention to stay
