[GRASS-user] apply r.mask to a vector

Hi all ,
is there is a way to apply a raster mask (r.mask) to a vector (lines)?

Seams to me that the only solution is to vectorize the mask and then use
v.clip to clip out the area outside the mask.

Is this the only solution or there is another one that avoid the "raster
mask to vector" transformation?

Thank you
Best Regards
Giuseppe
