Here on a Mint macine in the office we solved the

"wx not found" problem with:

sudo apt-get install python3-wxgtk4.0

Now the 7.8.1 GUI starts.

Next issue to solve is:
"ImportError: cannot import name 'NewIdRef'

So, we reached your bug at our end :-)
