<br>The directory was correctly located, the problem was that the object code (directory OBJ-i686-pc-linux) had been created in r.seg/src/ not in r.seg, so I had to run make install on r.seg/src/ . Now it seems properly installed.<br>

You likely need to indicate where the source code is if you didn't<br>
move r.seg into the raster directory of the GRASS source code.<br>
