Hello,
GRASS is Free Software, coming with the Freedom to
use, study, adapt, and redistribute it.
Thus there is no "trial" version.
Yes, it is true that people have build webapplications with GRASS before.
However GRASS offers deep analysis capabilities,
so you might need a GRASS expert to deploy it in this way.
Another option for web applications could be the UMN MapServer.
Check www.freegis.org for other Free Software for geoprocessing
and the link to the Mapserver.
