I'm afraid that there is no clear terminology for that and there are
different things to name (the actual tests versus tools to run and write
them). However, we should agree on something. I've already flooded
everything with "testing framework" since GSoC started but is it not too
late to change things. Just keep this in mind for now, we don't have to
decide right now.

I can change to testing framework easily, so don't hesitate to post all
ideas.
