Good advice! Actually it was Cees from Amsterdam that was having the
problems, so I am forwarding your message to him and to the win-grass
list. I have export DISPLAY=127.0.0.1:0 in my profile, so I forgot to
mention that to Cees.

Thanks,
Rich

Hey Rich.

I have grass up and running (minus the postgres database) on an XP
machine...

as per your last post it sounds like something that happens to me all
the time (cause I forget two little things

1. before starting x-win typing the folowing:
Export DISPLAY=127.0.0.1:0
2. always remember the '&' at the end of the Xwin commands (this ensures
a cygwin prompt is available after x-win has started)

does this help?
