[winGRASS] Setting up ODBC connections

Is there a guide to setting up ODBC connections for GRASS/Cygwin?

So far, setting up ODBC under control panel doesn't seem to work.
Though I could be specifying things wrong in the connection string. I
have also not found any information on unixODBC for Cygwin (what I did
find on the Internet said it didn't work).

The goal is to connect to an Access database.

Any hand-holding would be appreciated.
