[winGRASS] Native MS-Windows Port, Schedule?

Hello,

Does anyone know what the schedule is for developing the native Windows
port? When will it be ready? Can anyone with experience with the current
preview version (0.8.0) advise if it's sufficiently ready for prime time for
my purposes?

I'm planning a course for next fall and trying to decide on what GIS to use.
Grass is very attractive because students can run it on their own computers
free. However, I am not particularly keen on dealing with 25 undergraduates
coping with Cygwin or learning the Unix mindset.
