[winGRASS] Commandline-hacks for MapDisplay control ?

Hello,
while Grass-monitors aren't available for native wingrass, I wonder if there are hacks to use d.rast/d.vect from the command line and to get the results in the current mapdisplay ? 
To be more specific: How can one access the pgpm/pgm files (hopefully) created by the display-modules which are necessary to use g.pnmcomp ?

Are there other options to create visual output without having to use the GUI ?
