I can confirm this. There seems to be some problem with the command line
parser in wingrass. In msys launching any module (which has at least one
obligatory parameter) without any parameters causes the error that Mirko
reports and in cmd.exe it just silently exits from the command, without
displaying any GUI interface.

Another ToDo for wingrass...
