i've forwarded the osgeo4w-bug-report to the grass-dev-list:
http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/grass-dev/2009-November/047115.html

because of the fact that the current WinGrass-Installers are based on the osgeo4w-stack, 
the best thing would be that osgeo4w updates the Msys-subsystem.
