Hi All,

Pleased to see the excellent nominations for the Advisory Board. Setting up an Advisory Board is key for taking our initiative to the next level. Could i also suggest that you all look into your contacts at other Geospatial organisations (OGC, AGILE, UCGIS, ISPRS, UNIGIS,GSDI etc) to see if any suitable people can be nominated (please check with them first and get their permission before nominating). Through this started as ICA-OSGeo initiative, as you all know it is a fully inclusive initiative and Advisory Board is a great opportunity to bring key people from other organisations to also contribute to this initiative. All ideas welcome. We will also extend the nomination deadline to 25th Nov to enable more time for nominations. Jeff and Georg as the OSGeo and ICA Presidents will make the final selection.

Best wishes,

Suchith

PS: The 3rd Australia-EU Research Infrastructure workshop and meetings in Canberra last week was a great success. Thanks to Chris Pettit and colleagues http://www.abp.unimelb.edu.au/osgeolab at University of Melbourne and also staff at the Australian Academy of Science for the excellent organisation. It was an excellent opportunity to meet and discuss ideas for building future research collaborations.
