Hi Cameron,

Rajan and Anjana Vyas are the key contacts who will know more on these two events and i am sure they will update the wiki.

I remember OSGeo-Live DVDs being given out by OSGeo-India during other events also (Geospatial World Forum, educational events etc). Ravi is the key person who will be able to provide full details.Thanks.

Rajan, Anjana, Ravi- please keep adding all details to http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Live_GIS_History Many thanks.

Best wishes,

Suchith

Hi Suchith and our Indian community,
Was OSGeo-Live used at FOSS4G-India? Will it be used at the ISPRS Summer
school?

If so, can someone please share details such that it is included in our
OSGeo-Live history page:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Live_GIS_History

This history page helps us track the extent of OSGeo-Live use, which in
turn provides the justification for the many OSGeo-Live contributors and
supporters to help develop OSGeo-Live.

Dr K.S. Rajan (IIIT Hyderabad) gave the Plenary presentation on "Geo for All: an international network towards open geospatial research and education" . It is excellent to see the growth in number of universities in India who are now doing research and teaching in GIS using FOSS4G. I understand from Rajan that the conference was a great success with 12 sessions ranging from Climatic Studies to Village GIS. So i am really pleased that now more universities and academics are empowered and starting GIS courses and more students are getting opportunities to learn geospatial science. My thanks to Rajan and colleagues who have been working tirelessly for providing more learning opportunities for students.
