Tom,
Our Chief Architect, Tom Gaskins, and Lead Developer, David Collins, are as good as they get. So well worth the wait!
Tom did the first open source virtual globe back in 2002, World Wind then and still today, as modular componentry architecture.
Tom also wrote the original ^bibles^ on computer graphics (PHIGS) for O'Reilly press back in the early 90's.
Sole-authored a couple 1,000-pagers!

Tom,

Wonderful idea and a good primer for the GeoAcademy Web World Wind course! : -)

There will be more to play around with over the next few months, so the stretch will be good.

And maybe a great opportunity for folks to show off what they are doing with it.

Patrick

Yes, that would be perfect. Maybe you could set them up one per month. This would allow people to watch the webinar and play around with it and then get ready for the second one.

Then build the next webinar a little more advanced and then finally have one at advanced level.

Tom,

Thanks, good to hear!
And so you want an accelerated course in Web World Wind, maybe equivalent to the GeoAcademy QGIS?
https://foss4geo.wordpress.com/
I'm sure Phil Davis will be offering this in the near future, maybe this Fall (northern hemisphere ; -)

Shall we use our first webinar for a broad orientation, get some feedback and gauge level-of-skill? Then go into the brass tacks on the next one.

A webinar would be great idea. In fact, how about a series (maybe 3) I think one about how one gets started using it and then building from there.
