A good first point of contact would be to say hi to Justin (who is the
projects mentor).

A couple things have improved / gotten easier since TEAM Engine started, we
now have a graduation checklist which removes a lot of the back and forth
discussion that used to occur.

I would take a copy of that, either a wiki page on OSGeo wiki, or
preferably to project wiki (to work on with the development team)
