[Incubator] Response to Jody Garnett questions regarding CoastalME

Thanks Jody,

I will try to both answer your questions and summarise the steps that I have followed to date.

I have followed all the steps indicated in https://www.osgeo.org/community/getting-started-osgeo/add-a-project/ and on Incubator Digest, Vol 205 Issue 18 you should have received my email requesting permission for me to create and project page for CoastalME .
Apologies if I missed your response to my request above but it seems that I don't have authors permissions yet.

To provide more information, I wrote my email included on Incubator Digest, Vol 205, Issue 21.
Using the table included in the section "Supporting project teams" on https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Incubation_Committee#Step_3:_Incubation_process_and_Graduation I provided a description on each one of the items in the table (e.g. that is how I found the full incubation checklist)

We welcome all contributions but, being mostly geomorphologist and engineers we have no experience drafting contribution policies and we were hoping that the incubation program will guide us on this and many other aspects that we need guidance.

Just a quick note,

You seem to have found the incubation checklist which is far more extensive than what is required to join the osgeo community project initiative.

We try and make it easy to first be 1) listed on our website <https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Incubation_Committee#Step_1:_Add_OSGeo_Website_Project_Page>,
and then 2) join the community project initiative <https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Incubation_Committee#Step_2:_Join_OSGeo_Community_Projects_Initiative>
.
Indeed there is a new page on how to add a project <https://www.osgeo.org/community/getting-started-osgeo/add-a-project/> with step by step instructions.

While we firmly believe in the principles outlined in the incubation process <https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Incubation_Committee#Step_3:_Incubation_process_and_Graduation>
they are intended for established projects and focus on sustainability targets.

Can I ask how you found the full incubation checklist? I would like to ensure others are not lead astray.
