I think there is an element of both open data and open source in what Greenstand is doing, although I understand the distinction you're making. Our primary objective is not simply to collect and publish tree location data. We have developed and maintain an open-source technology stack that enables organizations and communities to collect, verify, monitor and manage tree data at scale. The software is designed to be reusable by other organizations, and we actively support partners who deploy or adapt the technology for their own projects and contexts. For example, we have supported independent deployments and forks of the TreeTracker system, including work where another organization runs its own instance while synchronizing relevant data with Greenstand's infrastructure. So while the resulting tree data is an important part of our work, the open-source nature of the underlying technology is also central to our model. That said, I appreciate that OSGeo may distinguish between projects primarily focused on open-source software development and those primarily focused on open data.
