We can certainly ask who would like to continue. The board at one point
asked for notes on committee operation

I wrote the following:

We ask that volunteers remain active, joining the discussion and voting on
> the email list. If you are unable to take part please send us an email. As
> volunteers we understand that life can get in the way of advocacy – you are
> welcome to rejoin at any time. We will also retire inactive members as
> needed.

If we find that motions are failing to reach quorum then it would be time
to reduce the list to those who are active.
