[Java-collab] MITAB format support anyone?

Just a quick questions - I am looking into MITAB format (apparently it 
is still in use) and wondered if anyone was aware of a Java 
implementation? I have something for the MIF interchange format - but 
reading the MITAB file directly seems to be limited to the C community 
right now.
If anyone has worked with this format before I would love a few pointers.
