We're currently hiring for the following software development positions:
Scientific Software Developer
Remote Sensing Programmer/Analyst
Software Development Engineer
Web Application Developer
All candidates should have the following qualifications:
- B.S. or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Earth
Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, FORTRAN,
Python, or Ruby.
- Experience working in a UNIX/Linux command-line environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to good development practices such as source control, bug
tracking, documentation, and unit testing.
Preferred candidates will have one or more of the following qualifications:
- Interest in Solar, Wind, or Hydro power generation systems, or
interest in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences.
- Experience with distributed computing environments and High
Performance Computing.
- Experience with large, gridded data sets, such as remote sensing and
climactic data, using tools such as NetCDF or McIDAS.
- Experience with geospatial analysis using Open Source tools such as
GMT, GDAL, MapServer, PostGIS, and PROJ4.
- Excellent web development expertise utilizing javascript, JSON, Ajax,
CSS, jQuery, and the DOM.
- Ability to architect large operational systems using well-defined APIs
and modern design patterns.
- Familiarity with modern web frameworks such as Django or Rails.
