Columbus Technologies is aggressively seeking a Web Developer to support the front end design and development of NASA's Earth Observing System Data and Information System at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.  This is a full time, fully benefited on going assignment.  Unfortunately no telecommuting will be offered for the position, and permanent residency is a minimum requirement for citizenship for this position.

Job Description & Responsibilities:
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required
The candidate will support the front-end design, development, and planning of NASA's Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) with particular emphasis on systems that work with NASA's Earth Science data sets. This position will work closely with the Earthdata system with emphasis on the Worldview project. As a whole, this system provides high throughput access and visualization capabilities to a growing proportion of NASA's Earth science data holdings. This role will provide front-end development support (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS) within a predominantly client-side architecture.

The candidate should be a self-starter, motivated, able to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic environment with a good understanding of software development standards and best practices.

Essential qualifications:
*       Experience designing and developing interactive web applications using modern standards (e.g., JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3) for desktop and mobile solutions
*       Strong understanding of existing web application development methodologies
*       Familiarity with basic UI/UX principles
*       Experience with at least three different JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, OpenLayers, etc.)
*       Experience with OpenLayers and/or web services a plus
*       Understanding of geospatial mapping frameworks highly desirable
*       Understanding of web standards as applicable (e.g., OGC, ISO, etc.)
*       Experience with Earth science data products a plus
*       Ability to gather, define, and document requirements in highly dynamic environments
*       Ability to effectively schedule and manage interdependent tasks and people
*       Ability to work effectively in a team environment across Government contracts/contractors
*       Good analytical and problem solving skills
*       Ability to prioritize, plan and organize activities and develop realistic action plans and schedules.
*       Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and ensures quality.
*       Possesses and demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentations
Education / Experience:
*       B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or related fields with a minimum two to four years of experience in web application development
