We have a global client looking for a Spatial ETL / GeoServer
Specialist to be located in Oxfordshire.
The successful applicant will be responsible for delivery of spatial
suite of products to a range of oil and gas clients.
You will also be required to ensure geoscience content is delivered on
time and to a consistent high standard and must have excellent
interpersonal and communication skills as well as being a strong team
player.
Considerable time spent working with geoscience teams and contractors
should be expected and mentoring will make up a key component of the
role.
Skills required:-
Spatial and relational ETL skills within SQL Server, Postgres and PostGIS
Expert level knowledge of Sage Software FME Desktop and Cloud
Familiarity with GDAL
Working knowledge of GeoServer
Beneficial skills:-
A demonstrable interest in Geoscience
Developing on OpenLayers 3
Familiarity with the ESRI Software suite, ArcMap and GeoCat Bridge
Working knowledge of Java (JEE and JSE)
Good understanding of OGC specifications and concepts (WMS, WFS, WCS, WPS)
Responsibilities include:-
ETL of Spatial Vector and Raster datasets for web publication.
Automation of spatial dataset loading and cleaning.
Working on innovative new technical delivery solutions.
Work with internal teams to improve content generation workflows.
Actively investigating new technologies and testing new technical solutions.
