[OSGeo-Jobs] Open position at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre

Dear OSGeo colleagues and friends,
we have an open position for a Scientific/Technical Officer on Data Sharing
Technologies in our team at the European Commission's Joint Research
Centre, in the  Unit “Digital and Data Sovereignty” of the Directorate
“Digital Transformation, AI and Data”. The position is located in Ispra, in
northern Italy.

The successful candidate will investigate and develop new technologies,
methodologies, and AI-based tools to improve trusted data sharing within
complex data sharing ecosystems, such as data spaces. The candidate will
develop showcases and prototypes within our in-house Data Sharing
Innovation Lab, investigating opportunities of new technologies and novel
applications by combining heterogeneous data such as IoT,
citizen-generated, geospatial, and unstructured web-based data.

We are looking for an independent, dedicated and proactive person with a
background in computer science, data and information science or similar
field, with a good academic track record, excellent knowledge of and
hands-on experience with data sharing technologies (APIs, standards, data
modelling, etc.), experience in the processing and combined use of
heterogeneous data, familiarity with open-source software development and
governance, and proficient in programming languages.
