Yeah, it looks like they’re metadata files for each band of each scene. I’m wondering if USGS is sending these over in recent .tars. The fact that they’re showing up in the index.html files means that they’re present before the ingestor script creates the index.html preview.

I am seeing lots of files named things like LC81560632015209LGN00_B8_wrk.IMD in some (or all?) scene directories on the Landsat PDS archive.  Does anyone know what these are and where they are being produced?
