[Live-demo] Re: Live DVD Code Sprint

Hi,

Time has run faster  than ever... and tomorrow is my flight to Australia.
Oops forgot to answer this...  ;-)
Sorry for the delay.

Here it goes, some ideas for LiveDVD-GISVM Code Sprint::

a) Run in all on the same JAVA platform.
 
I'm thinking of using TOMCAT 6 + Java SDK 1.6 for running: Deegree, Geoserver, Geonetwork, (and eventually gvSIG, uDIG, OpenJump, Kosmo, etc) 
It would be nice to see all of you guys make an effort into uniformization, and saving a lot of space on LiveDVD-GISVM.


b) Build Apps demos based on the same DATA SET.

Why should we have several duplicated  data (Postgis, shapefiles, image, etc) for different apps demos, that will show the same functionality?
The objective would be, to build simple tutorial for each app, based on the same LiveDVD-GISVM Demo Data Set.
  

c) Define ways to interaction with Host computer (for GISVM):

Virtual Machines have (at least) one big advantage over LiveDVD, it can be used interactively with the host computer.
My proposal is to get all minds toghether on finding the best and universal way to interact with Host.
On previous GISVM editions I have opted for Samba (very good for both Windows and Mac) and for SSH (very promising for all kind of things: terminal, scp, etc)


These are my king of wishful thinking...
I would like to know others opinion.

Will you be at the code sprint at foss4g, or lurking on IRC during the 
code sprint?
