Comment:

 Basically, because a deb of 8.4 isn't available yet for jaunty or debian.
 If someone wants to write a script to do it from source or
 [http://www.enterprisedb.com/products/pgdownload.do#linux generic binary]
 then it should be fine.

 It will definitely be included in the next release after FOSS4G as Karmic
 does have packages for it.
