FYI, the iso came out to 4.8GB which is not burnable on a a normal DVD.
Should work fine to boot it in a virtual machine though.

I will work on cutting it down in the next few hours.

In the future I'd like to coordinate the mirroring a little more, mainly
I want to ensure that final releases at least appear to be directly from
the osgeo servers.
There's some shuffling on my end and the builds are happening on the
same machine as the downloads right now (used to be 2 machines, prob
will be in the future, along with ram upgrades). Also note that the
final release will be on the osgeo servers directly which might speed it
up a bit. I'll be in touch about with all the mirror volunteers etc when
we get closer to release.
