I'm working right now to see if it's the xserver package or the kernel that breaks the login on VMWare Server. Maybe we should just use pinning on this version to prevent the issue. More in general in setup.sh shouldn't we use apt-get dist-upgrade instead of just upgrade to play it safe? Thanks, Alex
